Each Art Walk is self-guided, free and open to the public. Galleries will showcase special exhibitions, artist demos, lectures, tours and some of the finest visual art in the region... all within easy walking distance in our beautiful, historic downtown. 

Begun by Sam Sargent, an ‘enthusiastic gathering’ of twenty launched what would become the Newburyport Art Association nearly 70 years ago and the artistic evolution of our community has expanded into the downtown being designated as a State Cultural District by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. 

Whether you’re a collector, an art lover, a student or an artist, there has never been a better time to celebrate the arts and its artistic heritage in Newburyport!

The free brochure/gallery guide can be picked up at any participating gallery, the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce, the passageway, by Valerie's Gallery, between State and Inn Street and at our ArtWalk Partners' locations.
