About Us :
Wendell-Holmes fire department was first established in 1908. We are located east of Raleigh in Wendell NC. Since that time, the area population has grown with new businesses and homes that a second station needed to be added. Wendell Station 1 is located at 2960 Wendell Blvd, and Station 2 is located at 6529 Bethany Church Rd. Both stations are now manned 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Wendell Fire Dept. is also proud to house one of the areas only Haz-Mat units used in the recovery of hazardous materials that may be due to fuel spills, chemical spills, etc. We are also a medical first responder-defibrillation dept backing up the area EMS.

Our dept consist of 15 full time paid members and 28 volunteers. We not only answer fire related calls, all of our members are trained on a regular basis from a simple kitchen fire to a overturned tanker truck. Our members are also fully trained in the extrication of victims that may be involved in automotive accidents and equipped with two boats for situations that may require water rescue.
