Statement of Faith:

We, the people of the Union Church of South Foxboro, called together by God in covenant as a church family, agree together on the following principles:

1. The Holy Bible, in its original texts, from Genesis through Revelation, contains the permanent revelation of God, without error.

2. As individuals and as a faith community, we agree to regularly read and apply to our corporate and personal lives the holy scriptures and to live morally pure lives, recognizing that God's grace covers us when we ask forgiveness.

3. We agree in the orthodox teachings of the historic Christian faith based on the Bible; namely that God has revealed Himself as a triune Being, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and that all three acted together in every act of creation, that Jesus Christ as fully God yet fully human gave His life on the cross for human sin, that He rose again in triumph over death, that He gives eternal life to those who trust in Him, that the Holy Spirit dwells with Christ in the believer. We believe that God is ever-present, all-knowing and infinitely powerful, the sovereign ruler of the universe.

4. We agree that the human race is sinful as taught in the scripture, and that Jesus Christ is alone God's provision to reunite the sinful human race into fellowship with Him.

5. We agree that God has ordained communities of faith, called churches, to provide teaching, encouragement, fellowship and love to individual believers. The church consists of Holy Spirit regenerated believers in Jesus Christ.

6. We agree to covenant together as individuals to form such a faith community, having been led here by God for as long as God intends.

7. We agree to support together the teaching of the historic Christian faith, to act in purity and love toward one another, and to strive to live our private lives in holiness.

8. We believe that Jesus Christ will visibly return to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead; the everlasting punishment of the lost and the everlasting blessedness of the saved.

9. Our purposes together will be to worship God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to encourage one another in living the Christian life.
