At St. John’s UCC, we practice “Open Communion.” What does this mean? Put simply, it means that EVERYONE is invited to celebrate Holy Communion at our church.  Communion is not about anything we have done, but what God has done for us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  That’s why EVERYONE is invited to eat at this sacred meal — no exceptions!  As we often say in our Communion liturgy:  “Baptized or not, confirmed or not, member or non-member, young or old, saint or sinner, or a little bit of both — It doesn’t matter!  The only thing you have to be to eat at this table is willing, because our God is more than able.”
