Soule Homestead Education Center

46 Soule Street
508-947-6744

Because SOULE HOMESTEAD is a non-profit, membership-based association, we rely on volunteer help from our members and friends. We are always looking for volunteers to help promote and build awareness of this unique organization, as well as people to help with specific jobs - we've included a list below detailing the many ways in which you can help. No contribution is too small.  The commitment level is completely decided by you.

Current volunteer opportunities:

>strong bodies for physical labor on various farming activities, such as: composting, weeding, planting, harvesting, fixing fences and general chores

>people or families to share the job of feeding and taking care of the many chickens, goats, sheep, and rabbits who live here year round.

>people interested in working with the children's educator to help deliver 90 minute morning or afternoon field trip programs (CORI required).

>people with grant writing experience and skills willing to help us apply for financial help and choose from the myriad of public and private resources available to non-profit associations.

> any one with an educational background or just plain interested in serving on our Board of Directors and attending our monthly meetings (first Thursday of each month).

> enthusiastic people with all kinds of skills to help before, during and after our annual fundraising events.

Here are some other reasons why volunteers have contributed their time:

"I looked around and Soule Homestead Education Center is truly unique in its mission of delivering valuable educational services to both children and adults in the local community."

"...to improve my knowledge of organic farming and rural crafts."

"I found an opportunity to make a significant contribution and improve my skills for my resume."

"I get to know other volunteers and work closely with those passionate about the environment and the preservation of open spaces."

"...Soule Homestead Education Center is a worthy cause and a respected organization."
