Silverwood Elementary is a small neighborhood school that enjoys the benefit of being close enough for most of its students to walk or ride their bikes to school, while at the same time large enough to support a strong academic program.  Silverwood School has a diverse enrollment whose demographics mirror that of the State of California . Our teachers are qualified to instruct all kinds of learners, including English-Language Learners and GATE students.  Silverwood students are bright, courteous and eager to learn.  A number of Silverwood staff’s children have attended our school, suggesting their confidence in the school program.  The community takes pride in the school and its setting which is framed by beautiful views of Mount Diablo .  Silverwood's PTA is active and well-organized.  It provides scholarships for children, grants for instructional materials, computers and additional staff support, and community events like Fall Carnival, Spell-a-thon, and Pasta Primavera Dinner.  Silverwood students practice being respectful, responsible, and safe—the three guiding principles of our school program.
