Mission Statement:

To enrich lives and create community through the arts.

About Us:

The Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization that brings the full spectrum of the arts to the Hudson and Marlborough area. It offers opportunities to experience visual and performing arts through participation and attendance. The organization is supported by individuals, families, organizations, and businesses from more than 30 communities.

History:

Know as the Hudson Area Arts Alliance when it first incorporated in March of 1991, the Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization which has spurred the area’s vibrant cultural and artistic resources to flourish, administered by a resourceful staff of one full time and three part time employees under the direction of Executive Director, long time Hudson resident and arts educator, Lynne Johnson. Supported by a volunteer board of enthusiastic directors and more than 350 members from over 30 area communities, the Arts Alliance offers a broad array of dynamic arts activities in which thousands of adults and children participate. The quality, affordable events, exhibits and classes are held in Hudson and Marlborough, Massachusetts.

The Arts Alliance creates and sustains participant and performance opportunities such as: Art in the Hall, Arts After School, Arts in the Park, Band Lesson Program, Community Arts Series, Focus on the Arts!, River's Edge Youth Chorus, River’s Edge Chorale, River’s Edge Community Band, River’s Edge Players, Saturday Morning Discovery Series, Summer Drama Workshop and many visual arts exhibits.

Thanks to the support of area individuals, organizations, businesses, municipalities and foundations that value the arts, which so enrich our lives, many community members participate in these free or inexpensive programs.

The Arts Alliance believes in integrating the arts into everyday community life, as well as helping arts education thrive. It collaborates with schools, art organizations and artists, all the while bringing diverse people together. The Arts Alliance publishes a quarterly newsletter and arts calendar, as well as an annual Guide to Culture and Community.

The Commonwealth Award is the state’s highest honor in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences. It is presented every two years by the Massachusetts Cultural Council to honor individuals and organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to the quality of life, education and economy in Massachusetts through arts and culture. This prestigious honor was awarded to the Arts Alliance in 1997.

Many community-minded people value creativity and the way it inspires our lives. Please support the Arts Alliance at a level and in a way that makes sense to you, your family, your business and your institution. We all need the arts more than ever!
