About

The City of Princeton is a dynamic community located along the Rum River, one of Minnesota’s six protected Wild and Scenic rivers. Located 50 miles north of Minneapolis and 30 miles east of St. Cloud, at the intersection of Highways 169 and 95, Princeton offers the conveniences of a larger community with the tranquility of small-town living. Our district spans four counties: Mille Lacs, Sherburne, Benton and Isanti.

An excellent school system, strong industrial park, historic downtown, and a growing variety of recreational opportunities all add to the quality of life in the Princeton community. Princeton Public Schools District 477 offers a comprehensive educational program for students in pre-K through grade 12. The district's enrollment is approximately 3,300 students and it covers 230 square miles.

Along with its high quality curricular and academic programs, the district also offers a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities for students. Learning opportunities for district residents of all ages are offered through the district's community education program.

The city of Princeton was recently featured on the My Town campaign from the Monsanto Fund’s America’s Farmers Community Outreach programs. This program highlights what makes farming towns special and helps fund local nonprofit organizations in rural towns.
