Imagine receiving a box overflowing with vegetables grown locally and "off-the-grid." Everything from typical fare - lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, for example - to the more exotic, such as purslane, black edamame and sorrell. We've planned a season full of variety and flavor and will include some of our favorite recipes.

Ohia Fields Farm is a family-run CSA serving Waimea and the Hamakua Coast. We offer four 12-week seasons each year. Our basic box is filled with 7-10 vegetables and herbs grown locally and "off the grid" on our 22-acre farm. The deluxe box features everything that's in the basic, plus more herbs, weekly eggs, a monthly delivery of lamb or chicken and other goodies like preserves.

We grow a wide variety of vegetables. Our 2010 vegetables included beets, beans, carrots, cucumber, cauliflower, collards, eggplants, edamame, lettuce, melon, okra, sweet and hot peppers, purslane, sorrel, summer squash, tomato and much more.

We are committed to following our dream of helping the Big Island move toward food independence by providing affordable and healthy food for the local community. We are dedicated to being good stewards of the land by pursuing pesticide-free, sustainable farming and by restoring nearly half our acreage to native forest.
