Mission:
Helping people who are far from God become fully developed worshippers and servants of Christ.People who are far from God. North River Church began with a heart for restoring the original focus of disciples of Jesus Christ - articulating the gospel to people who are in need of God's grace. Today, approximately 50% of the adult population never attends a church beyond Christmas, Easter, a wedding or a funeral. The phrase "far from God" describes several different categories of unchurched people. Some have never been a part of a church, some have a church background but dropped out many years ago. Others have dabbled in occult practices, cult groups or non-Christian religions. We want everyone who fits any of these descriptions to know that Jesus came to reveal God's nature and God's grace to them. Worshippers and Servants of Christ .These two phrases sum up everything that God wants from His people. First, He wants us to be Christ-followers. Jesus is God's one-of-a-kind Son, and all of God's fullness dwells in Him. Because Jesus is in very nature God, sharing the divine essence of God the Father, God wants us to worship Jesus as our loving Savior. Jesus not only paid for our sins on the cross, He also grants us a new hope and a new life through the presence of His Holy Spirit. And the goal of every Christian is to serve Christ by fulfilling His purposes for our lives and for the church. Fully Developed .Growing in the knowledge of the Bible and growing in our experience of Christ's love and leading is a life-long process. Toward that end, North River's teaching ministry aims to help Christ-followers continue to identify and take next steps in faith development. The foundation for these next steps is found in adopting the four Purposes of the church, which come directly from the heart of Jesus in the Great Commission and the Great Commandment.
