The Midlothian Fire Department proudly protects over 25,000 people living in an area of 115 square miles. We currently operate out of two stations that protects a primarily residential area.

A third fire station is scheduled to be built. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. The Midlothian Fire Department consists of 30 career members supplemented by volunteers. Twenty seven career personnel are assigned to three 24 hour shifts consisting of a Captain, Lieutenant and six Firefighter/Paramedics. Administration consists of a Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Marshall, and an Administrative Assistant. We respond to over 2500 calls annually in a 115 sq. mile area that includes the City of Midlothian and Ellis County Emergency Services District #2. We respond to residential, rural, and heavy industrial areas. We also provide MICU ambulance service to the City of Ovilla by contract. Our EMS personnel operate under the Medical Direction of Dr. Roy Yamada. We are located approximately 25 miles southwest of Dallas.
