How or why your coalition started and when: Originally called "The Joshua Group," Middleboro Youth Advocates was formed in 2001, after a series of community breakfast meetings sponsored by local clergy uncovered the need for greater communication and partnership amongst youth serving agencies in the area. The name was later changed to Middleboro Youth Advocates in the winter of 2002. Middleboro Youth Advocates partnered with Health Imperatives (formerly the Department of Public Health Prevention Center) to develop create a strategic plan to address issues that concern Middleboro Youth such as substance abuse.
