About Us:

The Marlborough Public Schools (MPS) services approximately forty-eight hundred children in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. We provide a strong academic program that, through high expectations and current educational practices, enables our students to maximize their individual potential and become valuable citizens in our community. We strive for excellence. We believe and value the importance of respect, responsibility, caring and best effort. We have high standards of performance for both students and educators.

The MPS educate a diverse learning population, offering an array of supplementary programs from high school to pre-kindergarten: Advanced placement and honors level courses, college preparatory courses, world languages, special education, English language learners, Title 1 reading and math, CITY Kids, D.E.L.V.E, math enrichment and extensive after school programs. Our curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, offering instruction for all students. Core curriculum areas (balanced literacy, mathematics, social studies and science) are enhanced and supported with art, music, health/wellness, physical education, library/media and integrated technology. Our teachers and staff work in team-orientated environments to better service our students. Self-contained classrooms are available at each grade level with many dual certified educators. The schedules vary by building, with most schools utilizing a block system for classroom instruction. The curriculum programs are based on the most current research, data and current thinking in the field of education. We are developing a wide repertoire of skills for teaching and assessing our diverse learners. Using data to make and assess instructional decisions for all children will allow us to maximize their learning potential.

Certified educators and support personnel are highly qualified in the MPS. Teacher- student ratios offer children many differentiated programs and learning opportunities. Our fine staff has received numerous awards and honors.

We are proud to have parents and guardians who are actively involved in their children’s education. We have committed Parent Teacher Organizations, School Councils and Clubs in each school building. We believe that successful schools have strong partnerships with parents, community members and local business partners.

Marlborough Public Schools values excellence as a standard for teaching and learning through our educational programs, services and internal operations. We ensure that each individual child is successful. Our children build the future for the great world we live in today. Marlborough Public School district is actively ensuring a bright future.
