Share the gift of literacy. Become a volunteer literacy tutor with Literacy Volunteers of America, a non profit that teaches adults how to read and speak English. We have many adult students waiting for instruction and are always in need of volunteer tutors. To be a tutor, register in one of our free 18-hour tutor training workshops. If you are older than 18 and you can read, then you can be a tutor! No prior experience required, just the desire to help another. Teaching someone how to read or speak English is mutually meaningful and rewarding.
