The Lewisville school district offers a variety of adult educational classes that provide exciting learning opportunities for community members.  Here is a sampling of course offerings through LISD Adult and Community Education:

• College 101 Workshop, taught by a college counselor and attorney who helps students and their parents overcome hurdles to entering college
• Intro to Conversational Spanish, taught by an LISD instructor and geared for beginners eager to learn another language
•  Photography Expanded, taught by an award winning Dallas photographer who motivates people with burgeoning camera skills to move to the next level
• You Can Oil Paint, taught by master artists Susan and Robert Garden, who share their color theory, composition and brush application techniques; students leave with a classic landscape or seascape 
• Jewelry Design Basics, taught by an artisan who brings the basics to beginners, who make a gorgeous necklace and earring set
• Passport to Retirement, taught by a 20-year financial professional who reveals how to preserve a comfortable standard of living in later years 
• 30 Minute Meals and More!, taught by a professional caterer and author who can help students create prize-worthy appetizers, main dishes, salads and desserts in quick time
• Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy People, taught by a professional who knows that learning basic chords is the first step to realizing years of musical enjoyment

Many other classes are offered, including Basic Computer Skills; Microsoft Office Word Levels 1 and 2; Excel Levels 1, 2 and 3; PowerPoint Quick Course; Basic Computer Skills Taught in Spanish; and Photoshop Elements for Photographers.
