Liberty Elementary School

849 South Liberty Church Road

Mission Statement:

Our mission at Liberty Elementary School is to cooperatively share the responsibility of educating the whole child, by recognizing the uniqueness of each individual. Students will master grade level content standards and apply that knowledge in a variety of situations through assessments.

Vision:

The staff at Liberty Elementary have high expectations for all students in order to produce well-rounded, productive citizens. Our students will develop academic, social and problem-solving skills, in order to be productive members of our society.

In order to accommodate student population growth in northern Montgomery County, Liberty Elementary was constructed in 1995, and opened in the fall of 1996. The school is located at 849 South Liberty Church Road (Woodlawn Community) and currently serves kindergarten through fifth grades, including a pre-school classroom (1 of 2 in Montgomery County in 2005). Liberty is currently designated a school-wide Title I school, providing all students the opportunity to benefit from the services of the federal program. Student enrollments have varied, but Liberty currently serves a student population of approximately 750 students. The school has progressed and grown in the past ten years, and continues to be guided by Mrs. Joy Holder (Principal), who opened the building in 1996. Liberty is a “late” school, meaning that our classes begin at 8:45 A.M. and conclude at 3:45 P.M.
