Killbuck Watershed Land Trust

133 South Market Street
330-264-6115

About Us:

We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of valuable lands in mid-Ohio.  Our strategy involves three main themes: (1) collaboration; (2) protection; and (3) education.

Our geographic focus (for purposes of identifying our organization) is the Killbuck Creek watershed; however, we presently work with landowners throughout the Counties of Wayne, Holmes, Ashland, Richland, Coshocton and Tuscarawas.  Our trustees recognize that land protection is a shared responsibility and that there are many avenues to preservation.  Accordingly, we have worked closely with other organizations to accomplish common purposes.

By way of example, we have associated with the Ohio Department of Agriculture as a local contact in its program of Purchase of Development Rights (PDR).  We have cooperated with Ohio State University to co-hold an easement on a farm which was donated to OSU for agricultural research.

We have worked a farm which was donated to OSU for agricultural research.  We have worked with other conservation organizations in obtaining Clean Ohio grants for the purchase of wetlands, park areas and properties with unique or valuable flora and fauna.  We have also collaborated with The Wilderness Center, in Wilmot, Ohio, the Western Reserve Land Conservancy and the Countryside Conservancy.
