Meals On Wheels:

Kaufman County Senior Citizens Services, Inc. (KCSCSI) is a private nonprofit 501C3 organization which began providing meals in 1979 in Kaufman County. By 1998, KCSCSI had begun to provide meals to the citizens of Navarro County as well.

The Meals On Wheels (MOW) program provides meals to the elderly, home bound, and disabled residents of Kaufman and Navarro Counties who are unable to prepare nourishing meals for themselves, or who have no one to cook meals for them.

The Kaufman County MOW program has grown from providing 15 meals a day in 1979 to 300 meals per day currently, with the Navarro County MOW program growing from 106 meals per day in 1998 to 300 meals per day in 2010.

Meals On Wheels Volunteers deliver meals in both counties to the frail homebound residents allowing them to remain in their homes, rather than depend on care facilities to provide for their nutritional needs.

Our society has experienced considerable change since 1979, but our original commitment to serve the elderly and the disabled citizens in Kaufman, and Navarro County has not. KCSCSI's primary goal with the MOW program is help the elderly and disabled stay in their homes to continue to live an independent life style.
