The education industry is undergoing a shift in focus to life-long learning and the Joseph P. Keefe Technical School (“Keefe Tech”) stands ready to meet the new challenges that are becoming an integral part of this life-long process. Keefe Tech is not waiting to be impacted by change, but instead is embracing it and proactively investing in the future of education. The primary beneficiaries of Keefe Tech’s investment are its learners.

People are very busy today and have many demands on their time. Kids and adults alike can not always fit a class into their existing schedules because of the conflicts that arise. Keefe Tech has invested in a web-based, e-learning infrastructure that enables it to offer classes 24x7, allowing busy learners to take courses when and where it is convenient for them. The Superintendent-Director of the school, Peter Dewar, sums it up in the following quote, “Education that matters, when it matters”.

It is highly unlikely that the classroom will disappear anytime soon. However, online learning is here to stay and those schools that successfully integrate online learning into their existing teaching environments will position themselves for a successful future.

With the introduction of e-Learning, the academic day and evening course structure as it is defined today will most definitely change. Keefe Tech will leverage technology to grow and foster an on-demand, continuous learning environment. This will open up new era for the school and new opportunities for all of Keefe Tech’s learners, which will be provided with educational opportunities that would otherwise be unattainable.

The current student body at Keefe Tech is approximately 800 students. The academic and vocational curriculum provides a challenging learning environment for students interested in college preparatory courses as well as specific skill training.
