Heskett Middle School

5771 Perkins Road
440-439-4450

Built in 1968, Heskett's one-floor design facilitates the middle school concept for approximately 700 students in grades seven and eight. The middle school experience builds upon the elementary school years and serves as a bridge to young adulthood. The staff recognizes the uniqueness of the pre-adolescent and adolescent student. Staff members are cognizant of the special needs our students have academically, personally, physically, socially and emotionally.

Recognizing the various developmental levels of our students, we offer programs that build and expand upon the basic skills developed at earlier levels. Heskett Middle School's team approach provides students with opportunities in language arts, math, science, social studies, foreign language, music, art, home arts, industrial arts/exploratory technology, computer science, and physical education. Our school provides a variety of special education programs and services for students identified as having a disability defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Guidance Department and the Resource Center support all areas of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to become involved in athletics and extracurricular activities that promote teamwork and a cooperative spirit beyond the classroom.
