About Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County:

Habitat for Humanity International is an ecumenical Christian non-profit organization created to provide access to decent, affordable housing for working families of modest means. Since its founding in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International has built and rehabilitated more than 200,000 houses. It is the fifth largest builder of houses in the United States.

Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County was established with the same goals, but focused on building houses in Archuleta County. We build 1-2 houses in Pagosa Springs, Colorado each year, using primarily volunteer labor. The actual cost of these houses is about $65,000, all of which must be repaid by the Partner Family which must also contribute 400-500 hours of sweat equity. Our efforts in Pagosa Springs over the past 15 years have provided quality housing for over 50 children.
