Church History

On June 6, 1906, under the shade of the cottonwood trees on the Ector County Courthouse square, a meeting was held to organize the First Christian Church congregation with 13 charter members.

The early founders envisioned only one Christian Church, modeled on the New Testament.

The chalice symbolizes the central place of the Lord's Holy Communion in worship. The "x-shaped cross" of the disciple Andrew is a reminder of the ministry of each person.
