Findley Academy

65 W Tallmadge Avenue
330-761-1635

Our School was built in 1906 and the last major change was in 1926. It was named in Honor of Samuel Findley. Samuel Findley assumed the superintendency of the Akron Public Schools in the fall of 1868, staying on in his position for 15 years. He was very active in professional affairs, serving as editor and publisher of the Ohio Educational Monthly after his retirement.

Findley became an Academy in 1993 being one of the first schools in Akron to require students to wear uniforms. We house grades K-5, and to date have 524 students with 48 staff members.
