The mission of Dranesville is to provide a stimulating, challenging, and well-planned academic program that accepts and honors the diverse backgrounds and leaning approaches of all students. The staff recognizes that each student has special needs and endeavors to meet those needs. Feelings of self-worth and a desire for personal growth are fostered in a caring, encouraging and safe environment.

Three objectives have been developed for the School Plan: To improve student achievement in all curricular areas with an emphasis on reading and writing. To improve student achievement in mathematics with the emphasis on the development of strategies to improve problem-solving and basic computation. To ensure high standards of student behavior and good citizenship, and to maintain a safe, orderly, and equitable school environment.
