Mission Statement

The Mission of Metro Parks is to conserve open spaces, while providing places and opportunities that encourage people to discover and experience nature.

To achieve this mission we strive to:

- Provide clean, safe parks to meet the open space needs and interests of present and future generations
- Serve park visitors with a professional, well-trained and helpful staff
- Fulfill our commitments to acquire and protect desirable park land
- Create awareness and understanding of our natural heritage and the importance of conservation through educational programming
- Conserve and restore natural areas to sustain communities of native plants and animals
- Offer healthful and enjoyable outdoor recreation opportunities
- Cooperate with communities and other park, recreation and conservation agencies in furthering our mission
- Provide leadership on conservation issues that impact central Ohio
- Preserve sites of beauty that inspire people and renew their spirits
