History:

The Cleveland School of the Arts is a specialty arts school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District that incorporates all aspects of the arts into its teaching approach.

Started in 1981, the school currently enrolls over 600 students in grades seven through twelve. The school is distinguished by its strengths in both academics and arts. In addition to a college preparatory academic curriculum, all students participate in an arts curriculum of their choice: literary arts, dance, digital design & multimedia, music, theatre, or visual arts. Located in Cleveland’s University Circle, the school has easy access to the city’s major cultural institutions, enabling us to develop the strong artistic linkages necessary for success.
