The School of Canton Ballet, under artistic and executive director Cassandra Crowley, works to instill in its students and pre-professional dancers an appreciation of the joy and satisfaction of a challenging job well done through age-appropriate training for toddlers through adults. The drive, determination and discipline remains throughout the students’ lives regardless of their chosen fields. Knowing how to set goals, channel their energies toward them and reach the goals are skills taught to dance students from the very beginning. In addition to building performers, School of Canton Ballet developes responsible adults, teachers, choreographers, designers, knowledgeable audience members, interested volunteers and, hopefully, future supporters.

In-School Dance Residencies provide students with an opportunity to experience dance and movement in their own schools or classrooms. Preschool and kindergarten students may participate in Joy of Movement with a weekly creative movement class in their own classroom with Canton Ballet Early Childhood Specialist Julie Mizer Grasse. Residencies for students from grade one through high school are available and will be structured to meet the ages and curriculum needs of the classroom.
