Mission Statement

The Brown Mackie College system of schools provides higher education to traditional and nontraditional students through associate's degree, diploma, and certificate programs designed to:

  • Develop an appreciation for lifelong and continued education

The faculty and staff at each location of Brown Mackie College believe that they make an important contribution to the economic growth and social well-being of the metropolitan area the school serves. They educate students to help meet the economic needs of the communities in entry-level positions in business, technical, and allied health careers.
The uniqueness of the Brown Mackie College system of schools is in its dedication to sound business principles that parallel the business principles of the community it serves. The educational process is a change-oriented approach to education that provides the community with graduates who possess the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in existing and emerging occupations.

History

In 2003, the parent corporations of the Brown Mackie College system of schools were acquired by Education Management Corporation of Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania . This system of schools was renamed Brown Mackie College in November 2004, and includes the schools formerly known as Southern Ohio College in Ohio and Kentucky; Asher School of Business in Georgia; Commonwealth Business College in Indiana and Illinois; Michiana College in Indiana; RETS Institute of Technology in Kentucky and Pennsylvania; RETS Medical and Business Institute in Kentucky; and AEC Texas Institute. Brown Mackie College has 22 locations in 11 states.
