Mission Statement:
Our mission is to people. Jesus Christ came to minister to people. As followers of Jesus Christ our mission is both Christ centered and people centered. We seek to provide fellowship, learning, worship, support, and opportunities to serve for people of all ages. Much of our mission is accomplished through involvement in the communities of Elkader, Clayton County, and the world. Members of Bethany serve the young and old who are in need. Through opportunities provided through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and other groups, members of Bethany can reach out as the caring people God calls us to be.

Goals:
Why are we here? To gather and nurture a community of believers, and to serve those in need. We believe God has called us to these tasks. We hope, pray, and expect that people who join Bethany will grow in faith, love, and obedience to God. As the Church, we seek ways to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, inviting and welcoming into fellowship all who believe.
