About Us:

Under the direction of Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin and Chief David Barnes, the mission of the Aurora Fire Department is to provide the highest quality of fire and rescue services to the residents and visitors to our beautiful city. Our goal is to use our training, expertise, and resources to protect, rescue, or assist in any way possible those who call on us for help.

The Aurora Fire Department serves the City of Aurora, an area covering 25 square miles and home to approximately 16,000 residents. We respond approximately 2,000 times a year to provide emergency medical services, fire suppression, smoke / carbon monoxide alarm investigations, and public assistance. Some of our other daily activities include fire-prevention inspections and teaching fire safety, CPR, and first aid. Additionally, our staff trains daily sharpening their skills and keeping current with the latest advancements in EMS and firefighting.
