About Us
We are the American Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia serving approximately 1 million people in the communities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Southampton Counties. We are committed to saving lifes and easing suffering by preparing our communities, responding to disasters and educating the public. We provide our services through a dedicated group of approximately 3000 volunteers and a small headquarters staff who are all committed to the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross established over a century ago.
The Mission of The Red Cross
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
