While we wait for the extensive repair, cleanup, and other associated work to be completed on the library’s lower level, a small browsable children's collection has been temporarily set up on the first floor.

Author Talk with John Cilio

Hear author John Cilio as he shares vintage images and stories about how women working in WWII changed today’s workplace. Based on his sixth book, Women's Work in WWII: Millions of Working Women Break Down the Barriers of Gender Discrimination, he will discuss how these women contributed greatly to the U.S. workforce.

Veteran's Day Virtual Art Program

Jane Oneail of Culturally Curious will present War and Peace and Winslow Homer: The Civil War and Its Aftermath. Winslow Homer was on the front lines of the Civil War documenting battles and moments of quiet contemplation in scenes that have come to define the conflict.

Native American Sites in Connecticut

Renowned former State Archeologist Nick Bellantoni will talk about Native American Archaeology in Connecticut. Native Americans have been in Connecticut for at least 11,000 years. This lecture is an overview of the Native American settlements in the state from the earliest known site to

today, based on archaeological evidence.

Shoreline Ringers Handbell Concert

Saturday, November 26 at 2:00 PM

Start the winter holiday season with this lively and entertaining concert featuring a quartet of handbells. This performance will include a variety of music and some Q&A between songs. Founded in 2006, the Shoreline Ringers have thrilled audiences through concerts and educational events - even performing at Carnegie Hall and with the US Coast Guard Band! We hope you will join us in the Town Council Chambers and “ring” in the season together!
