Cost: $45

Award-winning quilter Audra Rasnake, will teach you the basics of English Paper Piecing, sometimes referred to as EPP.

We will practice doing several shapes that will include straight edges, curves, and some with very sharp points. Students will learn the various ways that EPP can be incorporated to create large and small projects and discover how this method can be very helpful with quilt patterns that are more difficult to construct using a traditional approach to piecing. EPP is not just for Grandmother's Flower Garden! Audra's hope is that some of you will either remember an old attempt at a quilt block that failed miserably and take another try at it or that you will tackle a block that you had once considered too hard...EPP is GREAT for tricky patterns and for creating new ones!

4:30pm: Corey Yoder - Trunk Show
Cost: $15

It all begins with fabric, doesn’t it? Corey married her husband Ryan in 1997 and shortly thereafter, her love affair with fabric began. She started purchasing fabric before she knew how to sew or had even touched a sewing machine.  Realizing she needed an outlet for her growing fabric stash, she began making quilts – a natural choice as both her Mom and Dad’s sides of the family included many quilt makers.  She found that she loved the process.

When Corey’s oldest daughter Chloe was born in 2005, her attention moved to clothing design and led to her building a business – Little Miss Shabby – which focused on appliquéd children’s clothing. After several years designing and selling her creations, her family grew with the birth of her daughter Elonie in 2009.  That’s when Corey began focusing on quilts, specifically on designing and creating her own original quilts.

11:00am: Old Fashion Antique Quilt Bed-Turning FREE Event
Cost: FREE

Bed Turning Entry Form

If you love antique quilts, you won't want to miss this FREE old-fashioned bed-turning presentation!

For those that aren’t familiar with the term “bed turning,” they are the precursor to our modern “show and tell” programs at quilt guild meetings. Back in those days, women did not have many occasions to get together socially, and when they did it was usually at someone’s home. They would each bring a quilt to share, and since space was limited, they would lay them all out on a bed, stacked one on top of the other. Each woman would take a turn and her quilt would be held up for everyone to see and exclaim over while she told the story of the quilt.

During this FREE event, you will enjoy a variety of quilts, many of which have been handed down for generations and are part of the heritage of that family. In some other cases, the history of the quilt is unknown' while in others it it well documented. Some of these quilt have been found in dumpsters and, once cleaned up, are now treasured by their new owners.
