Newsies was one of the largest and most successful productions mounted in Bay High School Auditorium in recent history. The cast, crew, musicians and production team included more than 120 members, with students representing three of the district's four K-12 buildings. With the amazing pool of talent and impressive set design, it's no wonder the production sold out three of its four performances. Congratulations to Director Luke Scattergood and the entire team for bringing Broadway to Bay Village!

Whether you soaked up the sun in Florida or had a staycation in Bay, I hope you enjoyed a slower pace and some quality family time this spring break.

Before we left for break, we had a whirlwind of activity happening, including Bay High's Broadway Musical Newsies, Normandy’s One School One Book, Westerly’s Family Night, and spring concerts at the Middle and High schools. Leah and I are always in awe of our talented students, and are so impressed by the commitment our staff and parent volunteers contribute to making it all happen…thank you!

Before break I also had the opportunity to host a Coffee Chat with Treasurer Meghan Rohde at the new Bay Library. I would like to thank the group of parents and residents who joined us, and asked great questions and shared keen insight. These conversations always give me great perspective. Treasurer Rohde and I have one more Coffee Chat scheduled before the end of this school year, and that’s at Mojo’s on Friday, May 5 from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Please keep in mind that if you have a group that prefers to meet up with Treasurer Rohde and myself at the Board Office, just let me know, and we’ll make it happen.

Be Proud To Be Bay and I look forward to seeing you soon!
