Freedom Days is a 3 day, fun-filled event in downtown Provo. Visit our food vendors for snow cones, a Texas Twister, corn on the cob, a Turkey Leg and many other international treats. Inspirational and Educational 4th of July Celebration at SCERA Center for the Arts

We are proudly a part of The Freedom Festival Events At Scera. You will find a whole array of 4th of July events at SCERA Park and SCERA Center for the Arts: the Colonial Heritage Festival, Freedom Vehicles Military Outpost, Cries of Freedom, the American Heritage Museum, food trucks, pavilions, plenty of grass, and hands-on historical experiences guided by experts in their craft. Make Orem a big part of your 4th of July Celebration!

July 1, 2 and 4, 2022

1:00, 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.: Cries Of Freedom at SCERA Center for the Arts - Showhouse 2, Orem

Come in Out Of The Heat and get Inspired! See our newly revised show that has been thrilling audiences since 2008. In 63 minutes you will be reminded of our grand and glorious heritage and learn about people from other countries who have had their own Cries Of Freedom! Let our cast of charged up young people deliver a memorable performance that brings the message right up to our day with an ending that will leave you speechless! You owe it to yourself to see this truly exhilarating show. Everything is FREE and kid-friendly.

10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.: The Brent and Charlene Ashworth Collection at SCERA Center for the ArtsL American Heritage Museum - Room 101, Orem

Brent Ashworth has amassed a prodigious collection of relics from our nation's past: Colonial artifacts, Civil War antiquities, rare sports memorabilia, Mormon relics and much more! Nowhere will you see so many rare and invaluable documents and memorabilia. Come and see these national treasures and learn from the master of historical artifacts himself.

11:00 AM - 6:00 PM: Fine Art Show at Old Historic Courthouse, Corner of Center Street and University Avenue, Orem

Meet nationally acclaimed artists, see live demonstrations, and purchase original and printed works at the Freedom Days Fine Art Show, held at the Historic Utah County Courthouse. Original artwork and/or large reproductions will be displayed by approximately 22 artists who received an invitation to participate in this years show. The Rotunda level of the Historic Utah County Courthouse is a treasure to see--polished marble floors, pillars, and the spectacular stained glass ceiling offer a fitting backdrop to the art that will be on display. July 3 5pm-9pm and July 5 11am-6pm. Each artist will have several reproductions and prints available to the originals and large pieces still on display.

Exhibiting Your Art

Artists are invited to participate in our fine art show during the July 4th celebration this year. We feel that fine art is an important part of our heritage and we are blessed to have so many talented artists in this area.

This exhibit is free to the public. There are thousands of guests that flock to the square on this exciting weekend. Artists are invited to sell your works of art at the fine art show, if you so desire, and to make contact with those of the public who would be interested in purchasing from you in the future.

Participating Artists

Al Rounds, internationally acclaimed artist, returns for another year and is joined by artists Howard Lyon, Dan Wilson, Annie Henrie Nader, Linda Curley Christensen, and Robert A. Boyd. Darin Ashby, Jay Bryant Ward, Brent Borup, and Cary Henrie will also be present at the Gallery Stroll. It is meant to be an unforgettable meet-and-greet experience.

Other works of art will be displayed by David Junghiem, Mandy Jane Williams, Joseph Brickey, Scott Jarvie, Justin Kunz, Simon Dewey, Rose Dall, Jeff Pugh, Sandra Rast, Sarah Samuelson, Kathleen B. Peterson, and J. Kirk Richards!

Military History Days at SCERA Park, Orem

Join the Utah Military History Group for one of Freedom Festival's favorite traditions and take a step through time to explore the history and service of the Greatest Generation from Europe to the Pacific and everywhere in-between! See one of the most monumental events in human history through a hands-on experience with interactive displays, including an authentic WWII switchboard, recruitment station, working motorpool, 1940's swing dance, and so much more! Hear the stories and history of America's servicemen and women, and see the uniforms and equipment they would have used and operated!

This year we are honoring Local WWII veterans with a temporary wall of honor set up at the entrance of the display. If you have a relative who served, please submit their name to be included in this survey (all submissions due June 20th).

Don't miss our 1940's swing dance! July 2nd, dancing starts at 6pm with a swing class, and a live band until 10pm.

We are proudly a part of the Freedom Festival events found at Scera. Join us, Military History Days, on the north end of Scera Park, 9-5pm; the Colonial Heritage Festival, The Cries of Freedom and the American Heritage Museum as part of your Fourth of July celebrations this year on July 1st, 2nd, and 4th.

6:00 am - 8:00 am: Balloon Fest at Fox field, Provo

Gather with more than 25,000 spectators to experience approximately 25 of these magical giants close-up as part of the ever popular Balloon Fest. Balloons fly each morning on July 1, 2 and 4 from 6:00am to 8am, closed on Sunday. Families and children may walk around the balloons as they inflate. Make sure and arrive at 6:00am to see the balloons inflate! Pilots participate in the Hare and the Hound competition where "hound" balloons drop bean bags onto a target laid out by the "hare." Pilots obtain additional points through jousting as they attempt to pop large balloons with sharp sticks 200 to 300 feet above the ground. Top pilots from around the nation come to compete in this unique and difficult event. Also see the Balloon Glow Friday night from 9:30pm to 10:30pm at Fox Field! The majority of the Balloon Fest committee have been working together since the inception of this event 38 years ago. Our thanks go out to these wonderful long-term volunteers!

9:00 am - 6:00 pm: Colonial Fest at SCERA Park, Orem

The Colonial Heritage Festival offers something for every member of the family. Visit the village apothecary shop, blacksmith, cooper, broom maker, gunsmith, spoon maker, potter, various fiber artisans, chandler, baker, Isaiah Thomas Print Shop, frontier life, school & much, much more. Q&A as well as audience participation programs are sure to educate and entertain . Children and families will be able to learn and play colonial games as well as hone their skills in the daily chores of the period. Military enthusiasts can visit the gun displays, experience the cannon firing on the green and watch military demonstrations from the Continental & His Majesty’s Forces. Join the Culper Spy Ring & help get messages to the key players in the battle, but be careful, or you could end up in the pillory. Take the opportunity to meet with both Patriot and Loyalist community members and ask those questions that you have been dying to know.

8:00 pm - Stadium of Fire at Lavell Edwards Stadium, Provo

Back by popular demand, music superstar Tim McGraw will headline Stadium of Fire 2022 on July 2nd at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo! Special guest Marie Osmond will also be performing! And get ready for “More Fire” than ever before as we celebrate America's birthday with the Biggest stadium fireworks show in the USA, along with military tributes and a thrilling F-35 flyover. T

Tim McGraw
Back by popular demand after his sold-out 2016 Stadium of Fire performance, Tim McGraw is one of the most successful artists in the history of country music. In addition to selling more than 80 million records worldwide and dominating the charts with 44 No. 1 singles, McGraw is an author, actor, and outspoken philanthropist.

Marie Osmond
Marie Osmond is an iconic entertainment figure, known worldwide as a successful singer, television performer and talk show host, dancer, actor, author, entrepreneur and public speaker.

Street Heat
There will be no Street Heat or Tailgate that is normally held in the west stadium parking lot this year.

Street Dance
Keep the fun going and come to the free family street dance after the fireworks. Miner Music DJ plays music from all eras for everyone to enjoy! Instead of waiting in traffic, go to the west side of the stadium to the biggest street dance in Provo. Just follow the music!

July 3, 2022

7:00 pm - Patriotic Service at Marriott Center, Provo

We invite you to join us at BYU's Marriott Center on July 3rd for a very special Patriotic Service, with guest speaker Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Craig Jessop, former Music Director for the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square, will conduct the music for the evening, featuring the American Festival Chorus & Orchestra. This event is free to the general public! No tickets are required, with seating first come, first served. There will also be a special music tribute to refugees in the European conflict at this year's event.

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Born in Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia in 1940, Elder Uchtdorf’s family fled war-torn Eastern Europe, eventually settling in Frankfurt, Germany following World War II. In 1965, Elder Uchtdorf began working for Lufthansa German Airlines as a pilot, eventually becoming head of all cockpit crews, and finally Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and Lufthansa Chief Pilot.

July 4, 2022

9:00 am - Grand Parade at University Avenue and Center Street, Provo

Join us for the Grand Parade – the largest of its kind in the Western United States – celebrating God, freedom, family and Country with marching bands, professionally crafted floats, giant helium balloons, fun filled equestrian entries and local and national performers. We will honor the military and first responders with their entries in the parade. Entries will be given the unique challenge to promote patriotism and traditional family values to around 300,000 spectators, through music, displays, dance, and other creative and meaningful expression. The entertainment parade will begin at 8 am and it and the Grand Parade will follow the traditional route beginning at 1000 N. University Ave. and proceeding South to 200 S. and then turning East to 200 E. From there it turns North to Center St. and then turns East and ends at 900 E. Parade Route Map
